Heart Beats CD Cover

Create a CD cover for the Joliet Junior College percussion program. The CD cover is supposed to represent the music and the students whose work is played on the CD and be marketable to a younger audience like college students and their families.

For this project I went with something I felt fit the idea of percussion and music really well. I chose Heart Beats because I felt it best represented the people playing the music. When you play music in College you tend to be very passionate about what you do. Youre pursuing it beyond a basic level and possibly even turning it into a career. So the music these students are playing comes from the heart. In order to execute the design I was inspired by my recent scrapbooking endeavors and wanted to go with a collage type design. I had many different fun papers with a bunch of flavor and variety to them. I went with the collage idea because all the layering and different elements is the same as music. A lot of things and people come together in the process of music making they are a community and work together to produce the sounds.
